From a young age my love for animals was apparent, from bringing a dying crow inside the home to help save him, to refusing to eat any type of animal, to then begging my mum to drive my friends dead pet rat to the vet to find out the cause of its death.
I completed my education at Urrbrae Agricultural High school where I was able to interact with animals on a daily basis - how cool is that! In highschool one of my girlfriends and I started up a blanket / food / treats drive for rescue animals which we called "Animal Shelter Assistance" we would collect the goodies and drop them off to the RSPCA and Animal Welfare League. Once I even mustered up the courage to make my own liver treats for the animals and I will have you know that would be the first and last time I made them as they stunk out the whole house for a good week.
Post high school i went on to veterinary nursing for a short time unfortunately animal euthanasia never quite got easier for me and more often than not I would end up crying more than the owners which made for very awkward times.
After a change in life events, the prospect of packing up everything I own and becoming a house / pet sitter came to light. I thought to myself, what do I have to lose? So in a matter of weeks I had stored my belongings into a friends shipping container and packed only the necessities into my little Suzuki Swift. From that moment I haven't looked back, I've been back to back house sitting since December 2015 and can not see myself stopping any time in the near future.
